Thriving in Your Single Seasons: An Introduction

Image
This week, I thought about something and it made me reflect on what it means to be single in a world full of wedding bells, relationship announcements, and social media declarations of love. Honestly, this isn’t an easy season for many of us. You’re constantly reminded of what you don’t have through conversations or casual mentions of weddings. It can be tough. But there’s something I want to remind you of—something you probably already know deep down: times and seasons. Understanding Times and Seasons Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, "For everything, there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven." The latter part of this verse stands out—a time for every activity under heaven. This means there are various activities here on earth. Right now, it’s your time for the activity of singleness—your single season. The thing about all seasons is that they have their beautiful and challenging moments. Just like any other phase in life, this one comes with its ups and downs. There ...

In God's Care: Possessing Everything, Lacking Nothing

I've been trusting God on what the next blog post should be. I could have easily made a content schedule and followed through. But no! I want to be able to discern the will and the word of God for His children every week. So, while praying this morning—on a Tuesday—I just knew that this was it. And now, here we are. With God, You Have All Things With God, you have all things and need nothing. There was a moment when Psalm 23:1 truly resonated with me, beyond the usual sense of reciting the verse. The NLT version says, "The Lord is my shepherd, I have all that I need." It doesn't matter what I need; I have it. This might sound unrealistic, especially given the current state of the economy. But as Christians, we are not defined or limited by circumstances. Our reality is rooted in the word of God and nothing else. So, if God says that because He is my shepherd, I will not lack or need anything, I must believe it. The Lord Is My Shepherd We checked out the NLT version ;...

Coming to the Lord as You Are: Embracing Vulnerability in His Presence

In a world where appearances often matter more than authenticity, many of us are tempted to wear masks—masks of strength, confidence, and perfection. Society encourages us to hide our weaknesses, to "fake it till we make it," and to present an image that is often far from reality. We play along, pretending to have it all together, even when we feel like we’re falling apart inside. But what if there was a place where you didn’t have to pretend? What if you could come as you are, with all your imperfections, doubts, and fears?  That place exists, and it’s in the presence of God. God invites us to come to Him in our most vulnerable state—without pretense, without shame. He doesn't ask us to hide our weaknesses or to present a facade. Instead, He welcomes us just as we are, in our raw, unfiltered humanity. Consider the story of Hannah from the Bible. In her most desperate and broken state, she turned to the Lord with all her heartaches and sorrows. Hannah was barren and deepl...
